David Killpack is the founder of Illumination Studios; a company specializing in enlightening visualization for scientific communication. His work has appeared in a variety of media including books, periodicals, websites, software, and exhibit graphics and has been recognized with awards from the Association of Medical Illustrators and the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators.
David received his Bachelor of Arts in Biological/Pre-Medical Illustration from Iowa State University in Ames, IA (2000). He has been employed as a scientific illustrator for Engineering Animation Inc. (1998-2000) as well as a medical illustrator and medical illustration supervisor for the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas (2000-2008). In addition to his work at Illumination Studios, David travels domestically and abroad conducting biological field research in association with the University of Texas at Arlington.
