Pat Thomas is a Board Certified Medical Illustrator and is principle of her own studio, Pat Thomas Medical Illustration.  She is a graduate of the University of Illinois at the Medical Center, now UIC, with a degree in Medical Illustration and is currently an adjunct clinical assistant professor for the Biomedical visualization graduate program.

Pat began her career at the University of Illinois Center for Education Development producing self-instructional learning modules. Currently, her company specializes in medical-legal exhibits and over the past 15 years has produced hundreds of personal injury and medical malpractice demonstratives for both the defense and plaintiffs. Pat has also been the sole illustrator on nine medical texts and a contributing illustrator for several others.  Recent texts include titles on physical assessment, spine surgery, foot surgery, and dental anatomy.

Pat is a Fellow in The Association of Medical Illustrators and served on the AMI Board of Governors for two terms: as the Association President in 2007 and as Secretary in 1995.  She has presented workshops and lectures at annual meetings and served on numerous committees including conference planning, the mentor committee, membership, regional meetings and long range planning.
